Do This To Overcome Your Music Career Challenges And Become A Professional Musician

by Tom Hess

I often survey musicians with questions like:

“Tell me your top 3 music career challenges.”

And you know what?

9 times out of 10…

Musicians Have NO CLUE What Their Challenges Are!

In fact, I bet you a dollar to a donut that if I asked you to list your music career challenges, you’d rattle off things like:

“I don’t have as many fans as I want.”

“I am not earning enough money from my music to be a pro musician full time.”

“I am not able to go on tour in the music industry”

“I can’t get my band signed.”

“I don’t have enough time to work on my music career”.

(or something similar.)

Except I’d then push back with:

These Things Are NOT Your Music Industry Challenges!

For example:

If you think your big music career problem is “not enough fans” – imagine I gave you 5,000 new fans today.

I’d even find 5,000 people who already love your type of music. Plus: I’d give you a glowing recommendation by telling my entire email list that your band is the best band I’ve ever heard.

And that they (my readers) should buy everything your band sells.

And let’s say these new fans start coming to your shows and buying your music & merch. And you get a nice bump in music career income and fame…

For a while…

But if you never uncover & fix the reasons you couldn’t build a fan base on your own…

What’s going to happen to your music career 12 months from now as other bands come along and compete for your fans’ time, attention and money?

More:

Let’s say you don’t have enough money to grow your music career. So, I write you a check for $25,000 to fund your next record.

But if you never address the real reasons you don't have money in the first place (like not having money-making skills relevant to the music business)…

How long will it be until you burn through the cash and are back to hounding music industry executives for another handout?

Make money in music

Here is the point:

If you want to have a successful career for the long term, discover the root causes of your music career challenges.

This is where you find solutions & opportunities to REALLY move the needle on your music career.

Unfortunately...

Few people can do this.

Especially when it comes to the cornerstone of your success or failure in the music industry:

Your level of music career value and risk.

Most musicians have no idea what ‘value’ is or what ‘risk’ is. Much less – how to assess their own levels of value and risk for their music careers.

But fear not:

I’ve written this article on how to assess your levels of value and risk for your specific music career goals...

...and how to use that insight to get where you want to go in the music industry as quickly as possible.
