Time Travel (using a backing track from George Bellas) |
I’ve been playing guitar since the fall of 1990 when my friend introduced me to Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica. It wasn't long after that when I came across the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen. I was totally blown away with his precision like guitar wizardry. Ever since then I've been following players who display a high level of technical ability. Back in 1997 I came across the great George Bellas and when I was checking out his website I came across a student of his, Tom Hess. Since that day I've been a HUGE fan of Tom and I finally decided to take the plunge and take some correspondence lessons with him. I've been studying with Tom since June of 2008 and have watched my technique continue to improve and grow as an electric guitarist. I do have formal lessons as a classical guitarist as I graduated from Laurentian/Algoma University with a 4 year degree majoring in music. Since graduating I've been teaching guitar at both the Algoma Conservatory of Music and Algoma University here in Sault Ste Marie where I reside.
My weapons of choice include my newly acquired DC Custom guitar built by Dean Cascione, a custom Carvin DC727, a 1957 Re-issue Fender Strat, a custom Fender Strat and a Marcus Dominelli concert classical guitar. As for my setup I run a Pod XT Live, Marshall JMP1 Preamp, Mesa Boogie Simul 295 Stereo power amp and a Marshall 4x12 Cab.
