The reason I knew that Fretboard Domination was going to be awesome is because I know a lot of the guys that go to Tom Hess events and they say it’s incredible every single time. And I also wanted to go, but I always had like a tour or something similar, so I could never go to any of Tom Hess’s events. But I just knew that Tom Hess would provide these strategies to really as he put it “dominate” the fretboard.
The reason I really like to learn from Tom Hess is because he’s very clear with what you should do and how things work. He goes on, he can explain the same thing like in 3 or 5 different ways just to make sure that you get it. Even though you get it the first time, he digs deeper so you really understand what it is he’s saying and what he wants you to do.
My guitar playing since doing this Fretboard Domination event has improved in ways that, it was very easy concept to understand and to practice and apply and I feel like even though I had pretty good knowledge of the fretboard, this sort of burned it into like the back of my head, so I could basically… if a song goes on and I don’t know what key it is, I can just start playing and I don’t even need to know what key it is or which scale or whatever, I don’t have to think, I just play and it sounds awesome.
It's very inspiring to be around Tom Hess students because many of them are really, really advanced players and it’s very inspiring to see that… to see these guys that fucking shred all over the place and they also always have a good mindset. Like it’s so cool to be around people that sort of think like I do and you can have really awesome discussions about guitar, music theory or whatever and everybody seems to be a very rational person.
I will definitely attend the next Fretboard Domination event. Definitely 110%.

The goal of Fretboard Domination is one of my personal goals. So I knew that I just had to come here. It was a key thing for me to just reach my goal in a very short amount of time. And now that Fretboard Domination is finished, I think I really am at the next level of reaching my ultimate goal and really knowing where I am everywhere on the fretboard and being able to improvise on that. I’m really happy that I did it. And it was even beyond my expectations.
I like learning with Tom Hess because he’s really focused, he knows what he’s saying, he knows what he is explaining to you. And also, the things that he is explaining to you he already explained to somebody else. And mostly that other person already reached his or her goals. So I know that if I do what he says, or if I practice in the same way as he told me to do, that I am also able to reach that goal.
Thanks to the Fretboard Domination I can now actually play A Mixolydian or E Flat Locrian without realizing that I’m playing it right now. They taught me small tricks how to easily find the right notes on the fretboard given a certain fret, given a certain mode. And I can just start noodling around with it, without first having to think one minute or whether the note in that key is that… so that’s an immediate improvement of my guitar playing now.
During the Fretboard Domination it was cool that we were with all the students together in the room. And then I saw other people struggling with the same issues as I had. And we could even help each other out. We could ask questions not only to Tom Hess or Tommaso, but also to the other students, we can talk about these issues and it’s really cool to see other people progressing together with you… knowing that you're not alone struggling with this problem, seeing that other people have that problem too and ultimately seeing that you and those other people can solve these problems.

I knew it was going to be awesome due the fact that 3 days of intense fretboard training is what every guitar player needs. I thought I knew my fretboard and I was pretty reasonable around the fretboard before I came here, but now I see it so much better. It’s not a landscape to me anymore, now it’s a panorama. And I can see that whole view again. An invaluable resource for me now. The freedom to rip all over it and never feel lost anywhere. Yeah that could’ve taken me months, years even to reach that same level, but with all the training material that Tom Hess has provided, it’s killed that in 3 days.
Due to the Fretboard Domination event, my guitar playing has improved immensely.
People play guitar for years and don’t fully understand their fretboards. The fact that you're around so many other people who are making just as much progress as you are in such a short period of time is certainly something inspirational. It certainly helped me gravitate to a better level. And I’m sure it helped everybody else gravitate to a better level knowing that we’ve all started… we’ve all had the same period of time to learn the same amount of frets. And now, now we’ve all got this freedom in our guitar playing that we didn’t have before due to the restriction of not knowing where we were or even what to do with it in some respects.

Just reading the sales page for the Fretboard Domination coaching was enough to convince me of how frickin awesome it was. And then I already believed how awesome it was going to be, but when I actually got here and attended it, it totally blew me away and it was way better than I ever would’ve thought.
Just attending the first day, I already feel like I got my money’s worth for it. And yeah I just can’t wait until the next day.
What I love about learning from Tom Hess is the way that he has of like if you present a problem or a goal that you have… or I guess that I should say when you present a problem that you have, he has a way of just drilling right down to the root of your problem. And it’s not always what you think it is, but he knows how to get to what the problem actually is. And then he knows how to totally overcome it, and help you overcome it.

I didn’t know it was going to be awesome. I’m a very skeptical person, so I listened in on a phone call that Tom Hess had to promote it. And… So to be very honest, I was skeptical about the whole program. The marketing is something that made me a little anxious, but I read a lot of reviews online, and most of what I read was “All this information is out there, I don’t need to pay all this money to get it.” But having someone to guide you through the information and shield you from information that you're not ready for yet. You know the people who are unhappy with the program are people who don’t want to put in the time and effort. So I’m very skeptical but I’m interested, I’m motivated and I like the way that Tom Hess goes about it. So I started taking correspondence lessons and saw the advertising for the Fretboard Domination Bootcamp and I’ve seen on Tom Hess’s forums a lot of discussion about HESSFEST and all the individual classes. And it felt to me like it was massively overhyped. It can’t possibly be that good. And so I figured I’d dip my toe in the water and check it out. Not over-commit to it. So I’m not here for the full two weeks or I don’t even know how long it is. I’m only here for three days. I go home tomorrow and I’m very upset that I have to go back to work tomorrow. This has been fantastic. It paid for itself in the first couple hours for sure.
