Create Incredible Guitar Licks In Minutes - Even From Notes You'd Normally Throw Away.

Hey, Tom Hess here.

If you want to always have a ready-to-go arsenal of guitar licks - that would get a nod of respect from your favorite players - at your fingertips …

... sound way more pro than many guitarists who can play faster than you ...

... and express yourself at a level you might think requires "tons of talent" to attain...

… then give me about 1 hour and I'll show you how to do it in my new course called:

See, after 35+ years of training guitar players to play like pros ...

(Go listen to some of my students’ guitar solos here, here, here, here and here if you stumbled on this page by accident and are unfamiliar with how freaking awesome my students play.)

... I bet my beard that if you’re struggling to create guitar licks when you solo, it’s because you’ve ‘only’ been trying to do so on “cruel & unusually hard” mode.

Here is what that often looks like:

You try to create a cool lick by playing some notes.

(Most of the time) The notes sound … boring.

(Most of the time) You throw that first idea away and go fishing for new and better notes to create another lick.

But …

(Most of the time) None of your other ideas sound any closer to what you hear your favorite players play - not even in their easiest solos.

So, on most days …

You throw all your ideas away and end up with nothing. Then you keep trying to create licks again tomorrow … and the next day … and the next.

Sounds familiar?

Well, let me tell you something:

👆This hamster wheel of guitar playing hell is the fastest way to start doubting your potential to become a great lead guitar player.

In fact …

If Your Favorite Players Practiced Creating Guitar Licks That Way, Most Of Them Would Have QUIT Playing Guitar!

Your favorite players don't create licks that way at all.

They use a process that's infinitely easier and way more fun, because it:

1. Doesn't require knowing lots of scales. (Which means you can create licks long before you master the fretboard.)

2. Works equally well no matter how fast you can play. (I'll prove it to you in a moment.)

3. Doesn't depend on you having great phrasing. (Ok sure, better phrasing always helps to make any lick sound better … but having good phrasing and creating awesome licks with good phrasing are two very different skills.)

And most importantly of all …

The starting notes in your guitar licks DON'T have to be ANYTHING special!

Here is what I mean:

Imagine the most ordinary TWO notes you can play on guitar … like: A and G (fret 22 and fret 20) on the B string, like this:

two notes

Most players would play those notes … decide they're not interesting enough … throw them away … and go searching for more/new/better notes.

If they have good phrasing, they might ornament these notes with some vibrato and slides (maybe a rake or a pinch harmonic if they're really good), and … that's about it.

A pro would see DOZENS of jaw-dropping licks hidden inside those two notes.

Then, a pro would use the exact process I want to teach YOU to use to turn these two notes into an ACTUAL guitar lick that might sound like THIS 👇

THAT is what these two unassuming notes can sound like when you turn them into a pro-level lick.

And yes, you absolutely can do this in any style. (So, don't panic if you don't love the example or if you wouldn't want to put this specific lick into one of YOUR solos … just admit that it sounds WAY better than you probably ever imagined ANY 'two notes' might sound … because THAT is the point.)

Now, ponder this:

If you could create a lick like this with just TWO MEASLY NOTES … imagine the licks you can create using ALL the notes on guitar!

Yep.

The ability to do this is THE secret that unleashes a waterfall of musical creativity you can turn on whenever you want, using the skills you already have

And yes …

As you might've guessed:

Inside the Ultimate Lick Mastery - Create Incredible Guitar Licks In Just Minutes I'll show you how to do this, step by step.

This is a complete, no-stone-left-unturned recording of a presentation I gave at my annual HESSFEST live event.

(Which guitar players paid $997 a piece - plus airfare, hotel and meal expenses - to attend.)

It went like this:

I started by showing everyone a handful of the most uninspired, vanilla notes you can imagine - notes that everyone in the audience agreed sounded lifeless. Robotic.

Then, like a magician, I began turning them into one creative guitar lick after another, while explaining ALL the thinking about how I:

- Tweak the start and end of the lick (to make it sound more like a distinct phrase vs. a bunch of notes)

- Decide which notes to play faster or slower (sure, you could “decide” this at random. But I show you what to do if you actually want your licks to sound PRO.)

- Choose where to insert silence (rests) into the lick to make it more dramatic.

- Pinpoint what emotion is “missing” from the lick and decide how (and where) to add it in.

- Make micro adjustments to the lick so the notes fit the track you're soloing over.

- Build a single lick into a full-blown mini guitar solo.

- Choose which techniques (vibrato, slides, bends, harmonics) to add to a lick - and how and where to use them - to squeeze more emotion out of the notes.

And the most important skill you'll walk away with:

How to evaluate each guitar lick you create - the same way I would if you sent me your playing and asked: “Hey Tom Hess, how do you think I could make these guitar licks sound pro?” - so that you can see exactly how to improve them ... potentially just as well as I could ... so you eventually stop needing someone else to tell you whether what you just played was any good.

Once you understand how to do this ...

You’ll not ‘just’ have the skillset to create better licks, write solos (way!) faster and refine any solos you’ve already written ... you’ll also realize that:

You’ve been sitting on a goldmine of AWESOME guitar licks your entire guitar playing life.

(The gold has been buried inside the material you already know how to play ... but you just never knew how to dig it out.)

And of course, in the process of teaching you this “guitar lick creation engine” ...

I couldn't help but spill a whole bunch of fast-acting tricks that add more emotion to your solos and level up EVERY area of your lead guitar playing, like:

  • How withholding phrasing ornaments from a note sometimes makes that note MORE expressive! (0:44:24)

  • How to repeat a lick note for note and ornament for ornament and create a STRONGER emotional response in your listeners when you do. (This should NOT be possible ... because usually, repeating a lick feels like “telling the same joke twice” ... unless you “repeat” it like I show you.) (0:45:19)

  • Warning: Your most creative guitar licks can sometimes start as ideas you DON’T like. Here is how to make sure the idea you’re about to discard is ACTUALLY worthless before you accidentally trash what could’ve been one of your best lead guitar gems. (0:21:54)

  • Why adding technically perfect vibrato (that is in tune, clean, controlled and in sync) can sometimes make your guitar playing less expressive! (And of course - how to fix it.) (0:17:17)

  • How to create melodic licks that breathe while playing fast ... (the soulful guitar lick I'm using as the example uses 32nd notes) ... as well as how playing slower can sometimes be less melodic than faster playing! (1:04:40)

  • How to make any note more emotional without changing its phrasing or its rhythm. (0:30:04)

  • Add more of these intervals into your licks if you want your playing to sound lyrical. (Hint: it’s NOT the interval most music theory books tell you to use in melodies.) (0:34:18)

  • A special way I recommend playing the highest pitches in your licks and solos (that usually sound weak - even with thick vibrato) to thicken up their texture. (Hint: it’s not “pick it harder”.) (0:37:50)

  • How to do “half” pinch harmonics (yes, this is my variation on regular pinch harmonics I guarantee you’ve never heard anyone teach) to add fire to your licks (0:52:18)

  • Why a slide that most players think adds emotion to a note actually drains it. (0:41:36)

  • A specific way to vary the rhythm of any lick to add a “propellant” of energy to an otherwise boring phrase. (0:57:22)

  • How to stretch 3 measly notes into a full 4-measure guitar solo. (1:04:17)

  • The simplest way to keep your lick sounding good (like it fits) over several chords without drastically changing it. (1:01:52)

  • How to improve your ability to create guitar licks away from the guitar. (No, you don’t need to use your voice - this is MUCH easier.) (1:08:20)

... and much more.

When you use even a handful of these tricks I show you in your solos, you’ll become a much more mature and pro-sounding guitar player who can ...

Quickly whip up short and “simple” licks that sound better than most guitar players’ best solos!

And if you teach guitar (or want to teach it in the future) ...

Having the ability to train your students to create their own guitar licks - the way I want to show you in this course - not only helps you with your own playing ...

... it can also put a lot of money in your pocket.

How do I know?

Because it gives you a rare-as-diamond ability to help your students go far beyond just becoming a clone of other great players ... and instead become the player whose guitar licks OTHER guitarists try to copy.

Armed with this knowledge - you’ll be able to say to your students the same thing I tell mine to make them choose you as their teacher:

“Listen, Mr. Student ...

You can find the tab of cool-sounding licks and solos anywhere. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find a good teacher who can improve your phrasing and make you sound a bit better with those licks.

But giving you the skills to CREATE ‘your own’ guitar licks that are every bit as good as those of the players you listen to?

Well...

THAT is what guitar players pay ME the big bucks for!

Speaking of which ...

Shortly after this epic training on creating guitar licks, a good portion of guitar players in the audience paid me thousands MORE dollars - a year in advance - to pre-order my guitar training events for the following year.

(If you believe - as I do - that people vote with their wallets, that should tell you a lot about how game-changing they must have thought my masterclass was.)

Here is what one of them said:

"The master classes are absolutely incredible … the content is like no other that I've ever been exposed to." - Mark Turko, USA

Which brings me to the good news for you ...

You can watch Ultimate Lick Mastery without paying the $997 everyone else paid.

(Sidebar: of course, you ARE missing out on a whole bunch of OTHER guitar mastery gold that I and my elite team of master guitar teachers unloaded on everyone who was at HESSFEST. There is a ton that took place there that I do NOT sell recordings of ... for any price. But if you’ve never attended my events before, buying this course is a VERY nice (and rare!) opportunity for you to ‘sample’ some of what you’ve been missing for over 20 years now. Anyway: back to the topic👇)

Your investment - during this launch - is just $197. (The timer below shows when this launch discount ends and the price returns to $297.)

If you trust that I am someone worth learning lead guitar playing from ... and you can set aside a couple of hours for going through it and using what I train you to do (it's not hard - I promise)

... then this might well be the biggest upgrade for your lead guitar playing this year that you'll enjoy for the rest of your life.

Got questions?

How advanced of a guitar player do I need to be to go through this course?

Can you play one box of a pentatonic scale up and down without saying a bunch of swear words? Yes? Then you’re advanced enough.

Should I buy this if I'm a Breakthrough Guitar Lessons student?

Yes.

It connects very well with everything you're learning in your lessons, without overlapping with anything you already know. The training format of the HESSFEST master class allows me to teach certain topics I cannot effectively deliver in lessons. So, you’d be getting unique value here that’s completely different from how I normally teach you.

Plus, this course is NOT very long. (It’s the length of a typical live class with me.) So, you don’t have to worry about being ‘overwhelmed’ by extra content.

Should I buy this if I have "Blueprints For Creating Your Own Awesome Guitar Solos"?

Yes. There is zero overlap. Blueprints For Creating Your Own Awesome Guitar Solos teaches you one very specific way to create a guitar solo from start to finish - the overall structure, the arc, the climax.

This course is about creating awesome-sounding guitar licks that work well inside ‘any’ solo ... whether you’re creating them using the process I taught you in the Blueprints course, or a different method.

If you liked that course, you’ll LOVE (and get even more value from) this one.

Should I buy this if I have "Cool Guitar Solos Unleashed"?

Yes. There is zero overlap. Cool Guitar Solos Unleashed teaches you (yet another) very specific way to map out an entire guitar solo. But THIS course focuses on creating the individual licks that go ‘into’ a solo ... no matter what method you used to structure it. You take the simple, plain notes you'd normally throw away and turn them into licks that sound pro.

The two courses fit together perfectly. If you liked that course, you'll LOVE (and get even more value from) this one.
