John Magee

Born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, John started playing guitar at age 14 and was influenced by Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Gary Moore and various other Brit rockers.

He performed with premier Belfast bands, Katmandu and UXB before moving to Adelaide, Australia to join Balancing Act and later Mr Wolf.

John plays a mixture of blues, rock, electric and acoustic slide and finger-style. He composes instrumental music and has been commissioned for educational and commercial video soundtracks.

Inspired by his experiences at the 2010 and 2011 HESSFEST,  John is currently working on material for his first CD.
