I started playing guitar at the age of 13 and was heavily influenced by bands like Motley Crue, Poison, and Bon Jovi. Like many other players at the time, guitar players such as, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen and George Lynch heavily influenced me. It was also around this time that I started listening to two guitar players that would have the biggest influence on me, Vinne Moore and Eric Johnson.

Over the next several years my focus stared to slowly drift away from heavy, guitar oriented music and more towards soul and funk. Artist like Lenny Kravitz, Prince, James Brown, George Clinton and Rick James were the biggest influences and I also admired the fact that they played multiple instruments and in some cases (Lenny Kravitz and Prince), played all the instruments on their records. I was also getting away from the standard power chords and adding jazzier extensions to them, which enabled me to expand my chord vocabulary as well as the ability to express myself.

Right now I'm a member of the local band Soundtrack to Monday and if I can take a minute to brag, you definitely want to come check the band out. :) I've also been blessed with the opportunity to play with some amazing local artists such as Josh Logan and Bren Scott.

Currently I’m working on my first solo cd due out in the fall of 2009.
