Born & raised on the Canary islands, Spain , Alan is a guitarist and music/guitar teacher who started playing guitar at age 17.
Major influences included Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Hendrix and bands like Metallica, Guns & Roses and Rage Against The Machine.
These influences made him gravitate his playing, composing and improvising style around them. It was once he met virtuoso guitarist Tom Hess that his guitar playing started to improve dramatically.
He is currently a member of Tom Hess' Elite Guitar Teacher's Inner Circle Program.
About Taking Online Guitar Lessons With Tom Hess:
Alan massively improved his guitar playing by taking guitar lessons with Tom Hess.
No matter which level your guitar playing and musicianship is at, it is critical to find a great guitar teacher to help you make progress and get out of common guitar playing ruts.
Why is it that learning with a guitar teacher is such a big deal and learning on your own is not as beneficial?
I’ll tell you:
Learning on your own makes it easy to become frustrated and make very slow progress. This is because you don't have someone there to guide you when you don't know what to do or which things you should be working on to get better.
Not sure what needs to be in your practice schedule?
Tired of making the same mistakes every time you try to play your favorite guitar licks or solos?
Want to get fast guitar speed that sounds technically impressive and fills your music with expressive emotion at the same time?
Wish you could stop getting nervous while playing guitar in live settings?
The sooner you get started taking guitar lessons, the sooner you can solve these problems (and many others like them)!
Don't make the mistake of trying to do everything on your own just like many other guitarists do. The longer you wait to take guitar lessons, the longer it takes to reach your ultimate musical goals.
“Before lessons with Tom, I had not had lessons too long with anyone. I was stumbling upon lots of difficulties like with areas of technique, theory and... I didn’t even know the things I had to invest time and effort into to. Basically I was always playing the same lick.”
Having lessons with Tom gives me a new eye-view from a lot of the things I never would have seen if I didn’t start the lessons with him. My technique has skyrocketed. My knowledge in theory, composition and improvisation has gone from zero to a place where I like where I am. I’d like to be much better in aspects of playing guitar, but in the moment I feel good with what I’ve learned. It makes me feel good.
