Jure Golobic embarked on his musical journey at the age of 6, when he began to take piano lessons with Eva Sršen. Up until the age of 13 he learned to play piano from a variety of teachers, until he realized that his one true wish was to play guitar. He has studied with a number of acclaimed Slovenian guitar players.
During this prolific period of learning he also began to develop as an author and a band member. He was one of the founding members of a progressive pop-rock band called 7th Guest, which played original music.
Just shortly after the establishment of the band, he was invited to become the accompanying guitarist for one of the most popular Slovenian pop/rock artists, Omar Naber, for whom he has also written a number of songs and lyrics.
After more than 200 concerts with Omar Naber, a strong desire for self expression led to Jure's decision to join the renowned female rock band Makeup2.
For the past few years he has been writing music for and performing with Makeup2, and touring across Slovenia as well as abroad (Serbia, Croatia, Hungary).
His talent for writing songs and lyrics was quickly noticed by a number of Slovenian musicians, who gladly turn to Jure to supply them with an inspiring melody or lyrics.
In 2009, he was invited to work with the renowned Slovenian percussion collective The Stroj, which regularly holds concerts in Slovenia and abroad. He has contributed a large part to the collective's latest music and arrangements, and has become a regular external coworker of the group.
A rich knowledge of the stage and a vast variety of experiences in the entertainment industry resulted in the founding of a production group called BlackLab, which enables Jure to write music and lyrics for numerous Slovenian performers, as well as work as a studio guitar player and arranger on a variety of projects.
In the beginning of 2009, he wrote music for BB Teater theater's play Recently Divorced (Pravkar Ločena). A few months later he travelled to the USA to learn from the world renowned guitar player Rafael Moreira.
Jure is also the founding member, author of music and leader of the alternative band PointBlack.
